Pastor's Story

On October 24, 2014, our 19-year-old son Josh was badly injured in a car accident. In addition to several broken bones, he had damage to his brain stem. Due to the brain injury, Josh could not speak or swallow. He was in a rehabilitation hospital for nine months. Through physical therapy Josh regained use of his right arm, but was never able to walk again.

 

With the help of home-health nurses, we were able to care for him at home for three years. We survived this difficult season of life by God’s grace and through the ministry of our family, Christian nurses and doctors and a loving church family. Even with all this help, Josh died due to complications from his injuries on October 8, 2018.

Because of this painful part of our life we have great sympathy for those who are hurting and broken. We know what it is like to be in an overwhelming situation and what it feels like to suffer great loss. We want to be an instrument of God’s comfort to those who are brokenhearted. We want our church to be a place where those with disabilities are welcome and those who care for them are supported. 

 

We were able to walk by faith throughout this trial because of God’s grace. He strengthened and sustained us and surrounded us with loving people. We desire to establish a church that extends God’s grace to the hurting around us. We also want to be a source of encouragement to those who care for the sick and injured in our community.
